Американская публицистика 1920-х—1930-х годов о японской угрозе: пророчества и ошибки

Аннотация

Статья посвящена реакции общества США на кризис международных отношений в 1920-е – 1930-е гг. Сразу после Вашингтонской конференции и особенно после Китайского инцидента публицисты США сделали все возможное, чтобы завоевать сочувствие американцев к Китаю, и продемонстрировать опасность японской агрессии, в том числе для самих Соединённых Штатов. Таким образом, основная цель публицистов США была доказать возможность нападения Японии на США. Авторы показывают причины, по которым общественное мнение США и писатели поддерживали дискуссии о японской агрессии.
